Lip Filler and Lip Flip

What is the difference between lip filler and a lip flip?

Lip Filler adds volume to your lips by injecting a hyaluronic acid gel directly into the lips. A natural, plumping result or a more dramatic volumizing result can be achieved with filler, whichever you prefer. The shape of the lips can be altered with filler.

  • Lip filler results are immediate.
  • Lip filler results last approximately 9 months. A touch up is recommended every 6 months to keep desired volume.
  • Prior to your lip filler appointment: Avoid NSAIDS (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Naproxen, BC powder, Excedrin) for 1 week before.
  • You can expect bruising and swelling for 3-5 days after treatment so do not plan just prior to an important event.
  • Cost ranges from $400-$700

The Lip Flip is achieved by injecting a small amount of Botox above the top lip into the orbicularis oris muscle. This allows the muscle to relax resulting in a small “flip” up of the top lip. The top lip appears slightly plumper and more of the red lip tissue is visible. The lip flip corrects a “gummy” smile and prevents your top lip from “disappearing” when you smile. You will not be able to achieve a dramatic result with the lip flip like you would with lip filler. The lip flip will not change the shape of your lips or add volume to your lips.

  • Lip flip results are evident in about 1 week.
  • Results last approximately 8-10 weeks.
  • Prior to your lip flip appointment: Avoid NSAIDS (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Naproxen, BC powder, Excedrin) for 3-5 days before.
  • There is no downtime, you should not have bruising or swelling.
  • Cost $100 for upper lip only, $200 for flip to upper and lower lip
